Event Recap: 2019 DC Luxury Real Estate Conference
As a newer agent I was excited and nervous to attend the Luxury Real Estate Conference last week in Washington, DC. My team, Best Address Group, LLC, is a member of LRE and regularly attends events, but this was my first event and I wasn’t sure what to expect.
I’m lucky to have been able to learn from real estate experts from around the world (the UK, Italy, Spain, Costa Rica, Canada, and Tahiti to name a few), but the two keynote speakers had the best take aways. It was a good reminder that the basics are the most important part of success even though they aren’t the ‘sexy’ parts.
Matthew Ferrara gave an inspiring keynote asking the room to remember the kind of person they want to be everyday. Here’s what I wrote: “Everyday I will be the kind of person who treats others well." For me this is the foundation of my business. Here’s why:
This is how my dad runs his business. Stuck in a jam — he’s got your back even if he’s busy. Need advice — he’s got a few minutes to chat. Need the issue he’s working on explained — no problem.
The Platinum Rule . This is one of the core values of The Best Address Group. We always treat our clients how they want to be treated. It requires that we first ask our clients “What do you want?” so that we can provide the services that they actually value, want and need. We need to have a deep and personal connection to our clients in order to understand their needs and fulfill them.
Kindness finds ways of spreading itself around. Making sure my clients, vendors, lenders and all of those I work with (and love) are treated with kindness is the type of business and brand I want to build.
(Also, I need to see and read Molly’s Game by Molly Bloom which chronicles her journey from a college student to LA waitress to building and operating the largest and most notorious private poker game in the world.)
