Lifestyle Key: Connections
Real estate is the first career I’ve had where staying top of mind is a large part of the job. As a result, I’ve been sending more personal notes, calling just to say ‘hi’, and texting more than I used to. It’s meant more coffees, more lunches, and more conversations. I’ve also been hosting more dinner parties.
One thing I’ve noticed, especially when hosting dinner parties, is that people are always looking for ways to connect. Previously, it was easy to say that after a long week I just wanted “to relax” over the weekend. Making the effort to connect with people has been like working out. The more I do it, the more I enjoy it. It’s strengthened bonds with old friends, made me new friends, and made me more willing to reach out. For this, I’m grateful. I’ve enjoyed connecting and strengthening my relationships with clients, friends, and clients who have become friends. It’s enriched my life and it’s fun!
