As a follow up to Earth Day, here are 4 products you can use to be more sustainable in your everyday life.
I unknowingly showed my clients a house where 3 murders had taken place.
We’re trying something new here! I talked to Elizabeth Horne of Elizabeth Horne Designs. She’s a local interior designer who shared her thoughts on 2021 design trends, what to be aware of if you’re taking on a new project, and when to call in a professional.
As we all rapidly approach a year at home due to the pandemic, you might also be feeling a rut when it comes to making anything feel special. Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. Since I needed help with ideas I reached out to Canden at DC by Foot for some creative ideas.
The holidays often mean a ton of stuff comes into you home - gifts, decorations, holiday cards…
One of my favorite ways to start the new year is with Apartment Therapy’s January Cure. It’s a great way to set the tone for the new year with a sense of accomplishment through taking small actions everyday (with a few days to catch up) for a cleaner, more organized home.
If you want a special meal, but don’t want to cook, here are local restaurants you can order from
Fall is a natural time to find comfort in food. The weather cools (this year it felt like it happened over night) and it naturally make me want to turn on the oven and make foods that feel comforting.
I find that whenever my routine resets it’s a chance to create habits for success, so that’s my focus for September. My most successful attempt at this was starting a new Pilates routine at a new job back in 2013. I started going weekly on Thursdays after work and kept it up for 5 years. This time around I’m hoping for a small piece of that success and that this routine lasts long enough for me to get settled and create some new good habits.
If you’ve been following and supporting the Black Lives Matter protests, then you’ve probably shared on social media, signed petitions, read a book about race, and donated to organizations leading this work at least. You might be wondering what you can do next.
Here’s my challenge to you: Look into your wallet.
When I started in real estate, I was convinced I wouldn’t drink the Cool Aid. I would do my own thing and not buy all the books and listen to all the podcasts. Compared to many, I’m still not big into all of it, but I have started buying in.
I’m looking forward to the days when in-person coffee can happen again, but for now I’m figuring out what works given my circumstances. I’ve also noticed that a lot of people I know are joining TiKTok, I’m not there yet but who knows…
This year for my birthday instead of celebrating in the traditional way, I decided to do a fundraiser supporting Dreaming Out Loud, Inc. (DOL), an organization supporting some of DC's most vulnerable communities. DOL has helped coordinate and distribute nearly 40,000 emergency meals and thousands of pounds of fresh produce for vulnerable communities in response to COVID-19.
Since we’ve been at home for over a month now our entire routine has shifted. There are parts of it I’m enjoying, like not having to rush out of the house in the morning and family dinners, but entertaining a toddler is tiring and trying even when it’s fun. And we won’t even talk about how clean (or not) my house is these days. We've shifted our media consumption as well.
I’ve noticed, as I’m sure you have too, that all of the unknowns surrounding Corona Virus (how long will it last, how many people actually have it, when will we know more) are creating a lot of anxiety, and rightly so. I keep getting asked about the real estate market so I thought I would share what I’m hearing from the experts I’m following.
I’ve enjoyed connecting and strengthening my relationships with clients, friends, and clients who have become friends.
This weekend I was able to deliver house warming gifts to a few clients who recently moved-in to their homes. I give out house plants because they remind me of my mom, add a bit of cheer, and freshen the air in your home. And that allows me to share an authentic piece of myself.
If you haven’t made your plans for Valentine’s Day yet here are a few ideas to make sure you spoil your love and support local businesses at the same time!
Retreats can be challenging but with a good facilitator, a team that’s willing to listen and let others share, and big dreams, they can make all the difference.
