Pandemic Halloween

As with most things Halloween 2020 doesn’t feel the same. I’m thankful my toddler gets to wear a costume to daycare and doesn’t know what "Trick-or-Treating” is yet. She’s also going to be the CUTEST dolphin and I’m sad (thankful there won’t be sugar crashes) that we won’t get to take her around the neighborhood to knock on doors.

New Beginnings for Fall

I find that whenever my routine resets it’s a chance to create habits for success, so that’s my focus for September. My most successful attempt at this was starting a new Pilates routine at a new job back in 2013. I started going weekly on Thursdays after work and kept it up for 5 years. This time around I’m hoping for a small piece of that success and that this routine lasts long enough for me to get settled and create some new good habits.

Black Lives Matter

I’ve been meaning to write a post on my values for months. I could just never get the words to flow. I started writing this post on Monday, stayed silent for #BlackOutTuesday, our team had a conversation about our values and how to examine ourselves on Tuesday, then again on Wednesday, and again on Thursday. Now it’s Friday and I’ve finally put the finishing touches on this post. I’m sure there are flaws, but I don’t want to be silent.

Staying Connected

I’m looking forward to the days when in-person coffee can happen again, but for now I’m figuring out what works given my circumstances. I’ve also noticed that a lot of people I know are joining TiKTok, I’m not there yet but who knows…

When is it the right time to sell?

Is it the right time to sell? There’s plenty happening in the DC metro area. Homes are being listed at rates similar to 2019, they are still selling quickly (provided they are well marketed and well priced), there are some that are getting multiple offers. But does any of that make it the right time to sell?

No TV Tuesdays

Since we’ve been at home for over a month now our entire routine has shifted. There are parts of it I’m enjoying, like not having to rush out of the house in the morning and family dinners, but entertaining a toddler is tiring and trying even when it’s fun. And we won’t even talk about how clean (or not) my house is these days. We've shifted our media consumption as well.

Support Local Businesses and Non-Profits

This is a really difficult time for everyone and the uncertainty makes it even more difficult. One thing I’m looking forward to is being able to get out and go to local bars, restaurants, and shops again. Here’s a list of resources to help you find businesses that are open during this time of social distancing that you can support to make sure things feel as normal as possible when this is all over.
